Marseilles! Tommy: Marseilles? There is a group of hard rock which
is called "Angels" and which wrote a song called "Marseilles" and it is a very
good song! KJ:
really?! Can you speak to us about the beginning of this tour "Kiss
Alive 35" Tommy: yesterday evening, it was our 4th date and the
atmosphere was really exceptional in these Verona's Arena. Before rising on
stage, we encouraged some the other, completely aware which we were going to
live a big moment in this place loaded with history. We had to be for the height
in spite of the fact that a big part of the equipment did not have been able to
be installed on stage and we were also worried because Paul was not really in
best of his shape (problem of bronchitis). But in big professional that he is,
he gave everything really once again this evening. Because I promises you that
one hour before the show, he was really not indeed. KJ: it
is damage which you don't sing during these European concerts, because
personally we had liked well your cover version of " Shock me " of Ace Frehley
during the small Australian tour, some weeks ago. Tommy: it very pleases me the guys. Because there are
many debates on this subject within the fans of kiss from the whole world.
Certain negative reactions really hurt me. But I include the reaction of the
ardent supporters of the Spaceman. KJ:
you know Tommy, we are fans of Kiss for almost 30 years, and we always welcomed
well the newcomers in the group. In various periods, each with his own
personality always gave the best. And it is very there the main part. We like
Ace Frehley, we moreover went to see him recently for his concert of London in
Astoria, Ace set fire! But we continue to think that your version of " Shock me
" was a real and beautiful tribute in Spaceman. (Editor's note: for those who
did not listen this version, precipitate you on youtube!) and too bad for those
who did not understand him! Tommy: I was ready to take up again another song of Ace, because see kept silent, " Shock me " is not too much my favorite song.... Ace wrote the other classics of Kiss, that it would certainly be good to take up again, but it is Paul and Gene who decide! KJ: on
this matter Tommy, what is your favorite album of Kiss? Tommy: without hesitance: the first one! There are so
strong titles in this album! There is such an energy and such a madness in this
album. KJ:
before being a part of Kiss Tommy, you were a part of "Black' N' Blue", a very
good group of Glam Rock in the 80s. Gene Simmons even
produced I believe 2 of your albums of which "Nasty
Nasty". Tommy: you remember yourselves of that the guys, it is
crazy! "Nasty Nasty" effectively was produced by Gene and I find that it is
magnificent album, very raw, very " Natural Natural "! It does not make look
younger me, but I am very proud to have been a part of "Black' N' Blue", even if
for me the important is now Kiss. KJ: we
crossed before meeting you somebody who looks like you a
lot! Tommy: you had to cross my brother! He came to see me
for some dates in Europe. You know as me that the family, it is really important
not? KJ:
completely all right with you Tommy! To return to this tour " Kiss alive 35 "
there, rumours stated a possible DVD live which would be recorded, and can be
even for Verona's concert! That is him really Tommy? Tommy: you know, we register(record) every show of
Kiss since some of the year. It is possible that a DVD is born to celebrate 35
years of career of the group, but nothing really of definitive for the moment.
Even if there is a real possibility! KJ: we
thank you Tommy a lot for having give us some minutes in your busy schedule.
Have you a message for the French fans who wait with a big
impatience for the concert of Kiss to Paris Bercy on June
17th. Tommy: prepare you to live two hours of another world! Kiss will be this evening there in Paris and " KISS ROCK YOU "!!
Kissjournal: exclusive talk with Gene Simmons It was a little more than 1 pm when Gene
Simmons came down from his room to come to have breakfast in the huge room of
the Hotel de Verona " Due torri "(two towers) . We were Michou, Didier and I sat
at the table, waiting for the return of Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, Doc McGee and
its staff You imagine in which state we were... Especially when Didier
exclaimed: " here is Gene! " It was a crucial moment and you should panic in no
way but to behave in a discreet way as we had made it from now on almost two
hours in this big Hotel of Verona. Gene settled down only at the table,
greeting us with a small sign of the hand. Then YES! We waited "quietly", the time than
Gene Simmons has breakfast (coffee + bread butters and jam in the
strawberry!). And when the convenient moment came... We
did not allow to pass it!! Kissjournal: exclusive talk with Gene

Please take time to receive us. Remember you of "Kissjournal"? Gene Simmons: "KissJournal"? Naturally! " Kissjournal is
bigger! " I have all the collection! KJ: we
are very proud that you remember it. Then here is... it is going to have in some
months a new number of " Kissjournal". It will make not less than 100 pages and
will be in French and English version! Gene:
100 pages!! It
is really great! I really look forward to reading
it! KJ: we
like very much "Family Jewels". That can you say to us on this
subject? Gene: I am satisfied with the success of "Family Jewels", The new
season which is at present diffused in the USA has of very good rate of
listening. It is a big satisfaction for me. But in the fact, is there a French
channel which has receipt of it the rights? KJ:
not for the moment, but as many European fans, we ordered it in
import. Gene: so much the better. I announce you that there will be the
other surprises concerning " Family jewels " in the future. Furthermore, I am
very proud to share it with all my small family Shannon, Nick and Sophie! I
learnt recently that " My dad is a rock star " is diffused on a French channel.
It is really a good initiative of their part. I am proud of this cartoon for
small and big, which I imagined for my son Nick. KJ:
the concert of yesterday evening in Verona's arena was a big moment for all the
fans of Kiss. What are your impressions after this show? Gene:
we had a multitude of problems of orders technical as
you were able to see it. Many equipments of scene stayed in trucks, we were
obliged to shorten the set-list and to crown the whole, Paul suffers from
bronchitis! In brief, nevertheless it, I hope that the fans loved. But it is
true that for us, it was not easy. But I am going to make for you a
confidence... I prefer concerts indoor rather than outdoor
concerts! KJ: the French Kiss fans wait with a big impatience for the concert which KISS will give on June 17th in Paris Bercy. The pressure rises for all the fans, but the French media are a little bit sensitive to cold concerning this event. While all the European press makes many "covers" with the group, France seems a little to the dragnet! Gene:
For me, France has rather a "pop" culture than "a
rock". And then France, it is Edith Piaf! It is Johnny " Hollyday " (??) But
also Charles Aznavour!! KJ:
Gene, do you know some French artists? Gene:
naturally! I know well Johnny Hollyday! (Certainly Gene
holds it!). We met there is of it more than twenty years old! I like as well
this big actress as was Simone Signoret! Notably the film "The cat" in which she
is magnificent (editor's note: Gene quotes us even the year of the
film!) KJ:
what is the next date of the group? Gene: honestly, I do not remember it to myself anymore! I admit
you that on tour, I have no same rhythm as at normal time, to say to you, I do
not even wear a watch!
KJ:
and indeed, thank you Gene for your availability. We are really happy to have
met you, some of us will see again you for "Meet and Greet" of
Paris! Gene: you will be there?? It is great. Then see you to Paris and say, please, in all French Kissfans, that KISS will be ready to give you a memorable concert to Bercy, summits we confidence!! The group rings very indeed. Eric and Tommy brought some new blood to KISS.

ACE FREHLEY DESTROYS LONDON !!!
All those who were
present in the evening of April 11th in "London Astoria" will keep of this
concert a tremendous souvenir. Ace Frehley was in an exceptional shape and made us an
at the same moment inspired, very rock and powerfully energetic concert in a room
almost packed. Only regret the too strong sound and no merchandising (no tee shirt
no program tour). Leaning on one set
list without defect, Ace opened the fire with " Rip it out ", "Hard
Times" and "Parasite". Then followed in the order: " Snowblind/I
want you", "Rock Soldiers", "Breakout
"( With a thought of Ace for
Eric Carr, thought which the public answered
ardently). Followed by "
Into the voïd ", Ace announcing even the title with
a small wink: " it is the last song recorded with my former group
". "Strange Ways" (sung by the bass player of the
group), then a delicious compound medley of " Torpedo
Girl/Girl/Speedin ' back to my baby / Five card stud / Trouble Walkin ' /
Stranger in a strangeland
" (A pure happiness!) In brief, you will have
understood it, at almost the middle show, Ace Frehley had conquered easily the
heart of the crowd. Ace offering itself even the luxury with the passage which
was going to follow, to make rise still the temperature of a notch with " "
New york Groove ", "2000 Man", Shock me "
. Stopping to pushing the nail, with the devastating "Rocket
Ride "! The crowd was in jubilation
.
But the paroxysm was reached
during the reminder: were linked as pearls and for the
biggest pleasure of a capsized public: "Deuce", " Love her all I can ", "
Love gun " (small sentence of Ace to thank Paul for this magnificent piece)
and "Cold gin
"! Conclusion: Ace Frehley is alive! And even more alive than he was
him never! Then for all the ardent
supporters of the Spaceman but for the others also, do not wait any more and
will run to see Ace with his group where that you will can in the months to
come. But of grace, do not miss his return in the foreground.
All the persons present in the concert of "London Astoria" will say to it to
you: "ACE IS RE-BACK AND HE RE-TOLD YOU SO !!”

A good part
of "Kiss Army Europe" was present for this date of Ace Frehley to London.
Notably Niklas Olsson and the team of "Kiss Army Sweden", Marko of "Kiss Army
Finland", Laurent Perlberger of " Kiss Infos ", Nicolas Ciccarone (which
pleasant surprise!), representatives of "Kiss Army Slovaquie", "Kiss Army
Norway" and even fans of Kiss come from Argentina for this
concert! PRE-SHOW: It is for us all the occasion to get acquainted or to see again itself for some. It is as it that Michel Mayan and I even were able to meet Sylvain Avat, big fan of Kiss and one of first reader with his brother Christian of "KissJournal" (there is of it almost twenty years old!)

AFTER SHOW:
We
went together with Laurent Perlberger and with Sylvain Avat to celebrate, the
magnificent concert of Ace in a pub which diffused as we entered... "Crazy Crazy
Night"! There was then a competition of beers between us, that Laurent
Perlberger won in spite of praiseworthy efforts of Michel Mayan and Didier Simon
alias "Raymond". Half a good hour later, we
roamed in streets near "London Astoria" which were filled with fans of Ace
Frehley and with Kiss obviously!! The awake dream which! Michel, Laurent, sylvain (Verne et Avat) and Didier
Laurent Perlberger between the "Kiss Army Slovaquie "
At the time of ending this small note, we would want Michel Mayan and me, to thank Didier Simon, without him, "Kissjournal" would still shoot in the subway and the streets of London. "Raymond" as we call him, shared many kissiens and other events, with Christophe Sivazlian and Michel Mayan, but he is above all a big specialist Kiss, having been able to meet Ace frehley, Peter Criss, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Eric Singer excuse for little!!

KISS 1977 is coming to France !! (From Wetta Comics' Blog ) In June, just in time for the band's
return in France with a concert in Bercy (the first in 9 years!) Wetta will be
publishing "KISS 1977", French edition of the very first KISS comic book in the
History!!

Cartoon to be seen every Saturday morning at 06h35 on M6 in the broadcast "M6 Kids". At the same time, "TV 7 days"takes advantage of it to remind that KISS is on European Tour to celebrate its 35 years of career and that the group will be in Paris Bercy on June 17th.

During
coming to Kiss to Paris in 1992, in Virgin more exactly, Christophe Sivazlian
and Michel Mayan had been able to
approach the group, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer more particularly (photos
insupports it naturally), Michel Mayan had taken advantage of it to offer
"KissJournal N°13" to Eric Singer and Gene, and especially the new T-shirt of
"KissJournal" to Eric! What
is not the surprise of the members of the KJ to discover some weeks later Eric
displaying TeeShirt " KisssJournal " in official photos of "Revenge"! What a
pride my friends!! We had 3 or 4
photos in our collection, but we just found there a piece of new!

Ace
Frehley delays the release of its new album! Very
taken by its tour " Rocket ride tout 2008" who has already foamed a good part of
the USA, Canada and by waiting for some dates in Europe for spring, our Spaceman
preferred to push away of some months the release of its eagerly awaited new
album. It
is now the end of the year that is announced. Then for us all any little of
patience, this year of 2008 will be above all scenic for Ace Frehley as for
KISS! We shall not complain about it! |
